Prompt P-10.1: Calm reply to a one-star review
From AI for Real Estate Agents (2026 Edition). Facts in, draft out, licensee signs.

Use this the morning after, not the night of. The reply is for the next hundred people reading your profile, not for the reviewer. One reply, then stop. Check your brokerage policy first; some brokers want to see it before it posts.

------------------------------------------------------------
I received this public review and need to reply to it once, in public: [paste the review]. Here are the facts as I know them: [two to four plain facts, no characterization of the reviewer]. My name, brokerage, and license number: [line].

Write a reply under 90 words. Rules: Thank them for the feedback in one short sentence without saying "sorry you feel that way." Do not argue, explain at length, or characterize the reviewer or their motives. If one of my facts corrects a factual error in the review, state the correction in one neutral sentence; otherwise do not mention the facts at all. Do not reveal any private detail of the transaction, the price, the other party, or anything that could identify the reviewer's home. Do not ask them to remove or change the review. Offer one way to talk offline (phone or email). End with my name and brokerage. No exclamation points. Then give me a second version that is 30 words shorter.
------------------------------------------------------------

Then: read both versions once more. Cut any sentence that is for you rather than for the next reader. Post one. Do not reply again, and do not pressure the reviewer to remove or change the review; the federal review rule in Chapter 10.4 treats threats, intimidation, and groundless legal threats aimed at a review as suppression, and the line is not one to walk up to.
